The ActiveHybrid engine starts with our award-winning, 300-hp TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine, then adds a high-voltage 55 hp electric motor integrated into the 8-speed STEPTRONIC transmission. This combination provides 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque (ActiveHybrid 3 and ActiveHybrid 5 – ActiveHybrid 7 has 350 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque) while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the standard 3.0-Liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine. Combined with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission, the ActiveHybrid powered models are capable of an estimated 0-60 mph time of as little as 5.2 seconds (ActiveHybrid 3) to 5.7 seconds (ActiveHybrid 5) and 5.6 seconds in the ActiveHybrid 7.
